Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town that is located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar to its significance. Many people believe that it is an island that lies west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities in Lachine as well as West. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is often known as the place where she was born. It is true that she stayed there for a short period of time. Brugel developed on Courtice close to Oshawa within Ontario. Early ambitions were to become an expert dancer. Then, a growth spurt caused her to outgrow all of the dance partners she had. In a recent interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet, 1 inch." When I grew out of my male counterparts, I gave up. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In Brugel's case, it was the encouragement by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her to take the step she needed. She was encouraged to take part in an audition in the school's production. The student tried it out, and was eventually cast as the role of the main character for the role in Anne of Green Gables. The show was granted an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. For the past twenty years, her roles on television and the big screen have varied. The role of Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale which was produced over the course of ten years.
